Phyllis "Shayni" Weissberger
 

Phyllis Weissberger is a Florida Registered Paralegal with over 20 years of experience in the legal field. Her expertise is in the area of marital and family law including dissolution of marriage, co-parenting, timesharing, support, equitable distribution, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, modification actions, and contempt and enforcement proceedings. She is the principal paralegal in the law firm of Maynor Sachs Copple, LLC and also the firm’s website blogger.

Ms. Weissberger joined the firm in 2003 and served as the paralegal and Legal Administrator from 2003 to 2006. In 2009, she was promoted to Senior Paralegal. Under the supervision of the attorneys, she is responsible for the drafting of petitions, complex motions, memoranda of law and legal research. Ms. Weissberger assists clients with the preparation of financial affidavits and discovery production and also trains office personnel regarding document control and correct legal procedures.

Prior to working for Maynor Sachs Copple Ms. Weissberger served as a judicial assistant at the 15th Judicial Circuit Court for Palm Beach County and the Fourth District Court of Appeal.

 
   
 

Ms. Weissberger received a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude from Temple University and graduated from Florida Atlantic University magna cum laude after completing her paralegal studies. She also attended the Institute for Advanced Police Sciences at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Institute where she was one of the first Floridians to obtain certification as a fingerprint examiner after graduating summa cum laude.

Ms. Weissberger is currently a member of the Paralegal Association of Florida, the Palm Beach County Chapter of PAF, the Palm Beach County Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. She serves on the Law Week Committee of PAF and the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. Ms. Weissberger co-authored a chapter on Marital Settlement Agreements for the Florida Bar: Drafting Marriage Contracts in Florida (9th edition). She is also currently working to implement continuing education programs for divorce and family law paralegals in the State of Florida..
